De artikels wijzen meer in de richting van een CLEAN-UP operation, om Obama gunstig te stemmen, dan om wat ze doen uitschijnen. Prostitutie is verboden in AC (en in RP), het zijn uiteraard gewoon danseresjes die op zoek zijn naar een momo


Angeles stond in rep en roer, en de drie clubs zijn gesloten, ze spreken over underaged girls, human trafficking en meer, maar naar mening van de lokale media zou de steun van Obama van 250 miljoen dollar (die op de helling stond) aan de RP er wel eens iets mee te maken kunnen hebben.
Op het ogenblik van de raid zat de burgemeester van Angeles, Edgardo Pamintuan aan tafel met .... right, Mister Obama himself... puur toeval uiteraard... ik schrik er eigenlijk van dat ze niet gewoon iedereen hebben afgeknald in de clubs, aanwezig zijn is toch schuld bekennen???    [/box]

A sensational scene in Forbidden City shocked Fields Avenue as large vans and trucks, which included members of different special task forces and social welfare groups, allegedly deployed from Manila, raided the bar late Wednesday night.  Vehicles filled with heavily armed police forces were rushed to the scene to purposely shock the entertainment strip and the crowd numbered into the hundreds in an operation which seemed to have absolutely no purpose other than to create attention to a yet unknown motive.    Staff and dancers from the bar were taken into custody after tourists who happened to be in the bar were released just earlier. Throughout the early stages of the raid, even what seemed a member of the media who was documenting the scene was arrested and escorted into the bar whilst the memory stick of the person's camera was confiscated to hide proof of the officers involved in the raid.ACPO Station 4, nor any of the local police branches, have been notified of the raid in advance.Camelot bar was reported to also have been raided. It is reported that all the staff at Camelot were taken into custody as well.Both bars have been known not to have any nude or inappropriate shows whilst Forbidden City has recently been involved in an underage setup by the recently-relieved Angeles City CIDG Head Randy Glenn Silvio, which makes the motive of the sensational raid mystifying.The news will surely surprise Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan, currently in the US and set to return next week, who has recently promised to protect and promote Fields Avenue with the aim to develop the strip into a major World tourist destination.It is speculated that the strengthened anti-human trafficking operations prompted by the meeting between President Aquino and US President Barack Obama slated this month has been the primary cause of the raid.[/box]

Following the sensational raids on Forbidden City, Dirty Duck and Camelot Bar in Fields Avenue, a total of 40 individuals were apprehended and charged with violation of RA 9208, or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003.The 39 locals employed in the said bars along with one foreigner are still detained in the PNP training school at Clark Freeport Zone since Wednesday night. None have been granted bail. Most of these are women, with the exception of two men, one being a foreign national. Following an inquest by the Department of Justice on September 16, these 40 individuals, mostly mama-san, waitresses, bartenders and cashiers, now face criminal charges for being involved in human trafficking operations. In the raids last week, six minors were found to be employed in the three aforementioned bars.The 40 individuals are currently under NBI custody, pending a commitment order from DOJ directing their transfer to Angeles City jail. Based on the location of the crime, the 40 will likely be tried at Angeles City Hall.The raids on Fields Avenue were a joint operation of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). These national agencies have completely bypassed the local government and local police operations on human trafficking. [box title=PRESSRELEASE] Angeles City Hall gave a press release today with Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan’s latest correspondence via e-mail, in which he gives his official statement regarding the recent raids as well as the cooperation of Angeles City with the national government in its anti-human trafficking campaign. Below is the press release in full:Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan said yesterday that the city government has started laying down the local regulatory and policy environment not only in addressing “human trafficking” issues involving night clubs operating in the city but also in the long term and holistic approach to the problem.The mayor also expressed support to recent raids conducted jointly by the Department of Justice. Department of Interior and Local Government, National Bureau of Investigation and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of the Philippine National Police on girlie bars along Fields Avenue, that reportedly “arrested/rescued” 200 women, including 15 minors.Pamintuan issued his statement via e-mail, after being informed of the raid, from the United States where he is receiving P10-milion worth of hospital and medical equipment donated to the city by Detroit-based World Medical Relief Inc.“Among my first official acts as mayor was the issuance of Executive Order No. 13 on July 22, 2010 creating the Angeles City Task Force Against Human Trafficking,” he said, adding the directive provides for the regulatory and enforcement infrastructure and the social, moral and economic rehabilitation of victims of human trafficking.“Part of my eight-point program as mayor is the rebuilding and transformation of Fields Avenue and the entire Balibago district into a wholesome tourist destination.  We are already working on the blueprints, and the plan is to convert the area into an enclave of restaurants, hotels and tourist-oriented shops, and we shall designate a controlled area for establishments providing for adult entertainment, such as bars and karaoke joints,” Pamintuan said.He added he personally met with owners of business establishments along Fields Avenue to stress that his administration means business in its campaign against human trafficking and in transforming the image of Fields Avenue.  Pamintuan recently ordered the closure of Ponytails Bar for violation of regulations against lewd shows, and sought the relief of the entire CIDG team in Angeles City due to allegations of extortion.“I wish to emphasize, however, that the problem of human trafficking is not endemic only in Angeles City.  The problem exists in all urbanized areas of the country, particularly Metro Manila,” Pamintuan said.  “It is basically an economic and social problem that cannot be merely stamped out by police raids,” he said.Meanwhile, a non-government organization based in Angeles City said that the bigger chunk of aid made available by the US to the Philippines for complying with the latter’s expectations on human trafficking prevention should be channeled to areas like Angeles City.  “The proliferation of girlie and sex-oriented establishments in Angeles City was caused by the Americans, when they converted the city into a rest-and-recreation area for their soldiers stationed at the Clark Airbase, as well as in all other countries where they maintained military bases” said Susan Pineda, Executive Director of the Ima Foundation, an advocacy group on women’s issues.  In its 2010 report on human trafficking, the US State Department ranked the Philippines under its “Tier 2 watch-list.” This could result in the lost of $250 million in aid from the US.[/b][/size][/font]The raid on Angeles City night clubs came as President Benigno Noynoy Aquino III is preparing for a trip to the United States scheduled next week.###Source: City Information Office, Angeles City Hall[/box]

Verder zou ik burgemeester Pamintuan een schouderklopje willen geven, als je met een actie van een paar duizend dollar ongeveer 250 miljoen binnen kunt hengelen, tja, wie is dan slim.
 
Ik zeg denk verder en die gasten zijn een stuk slimmer dan het hele westen (en zeker de druiloren in de politiek).

Vaak hoor je in de media dat ze weer eens het een en ander gaan sluiten in Angeles City Philippines, soms is het een dag of week, vaak is het loos alarm dat met een sisser (lees wat smeergeld) weer is opgelost of het uniform van de danseresjes moet iets worden aangepast.


Vandaag echter GROOT NIEUWS wat wat lees in in de Daily star, jawel de Amerikanen komen terug op de basis Clark en ook in Subic bay. Na de uitbarsting in 1991 van de Pinatubo zijn ze verdwenen en niet meer teruggekomen omdat het huurcontract niet werd verlengd. Echter nadat de Filipijnen wat problemen met China kreeg over een eiland en het viswater beweerd een hoge offial dat ze terug komen.

Nou dan kan ik jullie garanderen dat het weer volop feest word. Zelden heeft het Amerikaanse leger een goede missie uitgevoerd zie Irak, Afganistan en Vietnam. Wat ze echter wel perfect kunnen is de Rest & Recreation creeren rond de basis of op hun rustkampen. Ik kijk er met een hele lange nek naar uit, want met hun op het nest komen de mooie Filipina's er weer met bosjes op af en zullen de taferelen weer ouderwets zwaar uit de hand lopen . Hier kun je in het westen geen voorstelling van maken.

Nu Alfredo S. Lim opschoonactie van Ermita in Manilla zo snel mogelijk terugdraaien en jawel dan slaan bij mij alle stoppen door. Tis dat ik net een vakantie geboekt heb, maar als ik enigzins kan zal ik zo snel mogelijk weer polshoogte gaan nemen in mijn Aziatische droomland. Let the good times come back ! Ik geloof trouwens niet dat veel mensen hier de impact van beseffen, maar goed de liefhebbers zegt het des te meer .
